Complex cover star Kendrick Lamar is currently in some legal trouble for reportedly lifting someone else’s song. Two Jazz musicians claim that his 2011 hit, “Rigamortis,” off Section 80 is a direct rip of their track. Pianist Eric Reed and drummer Willie Jones III, claim Kendrick jacked their song “The Thorn,” off Jones’ The Next Phase album… and now they want him to pay up. They’re reportedly suing him for $1 million.

Last February, Eric Reed took to his Facebook page and shared a fan made video that draws attention to the similarities between the songs. This is the second lawsuit to hit Kendrick recently; Woolfsongs Limited, who represent Eric Woolfson and The Parsons Project, claim that Kendrick improperly sampled their song “Old And Wise” for his track “Keisha’s Song (Her Pain).” The suit states that Woolfsongs Limited attempted to resolve the matter outside of court, but Lamar’s camp was unresponsive.

Either way, Kendrick just killed two guest verses in the last day on Flying Lotus’ “Never Catch Me” and Jeezy’s “Holy Ghost.”
